3 Sales copy tips for creating a sales page that converts
Are you struggling to write sales copy that generates enquiries from your website?
Or perhaps you’re generating the wrong type of enquiries from clients who aren’t a good fit or can’t afford you?
Getting your sales page to convert with leads from your dream clients is a common barrier for service-based business owners who haven’t had to market a business before…
And it feels so frustrating, right?
You’re doing everything you think you’re supposed to be doing to make sales.
But no matter how hard you try, you can’t quite get the success you were hoping for…
And getting new clients to work with you feels like it’s virtually impossible!
So, what can you do to get your website sales pages working better for you?
And to start generating enquires from dream clients who you’d love to work with?
Well, often, your website sales copy is not working as well as it should.
So, in the blog post below, I’ve outlined three sales copy tips to help you breakthrough and create a sales page that converts:
1. Use attention-grabbing sales copy
There are several copywriting techniques you can use to grab attention on your website.
One of the most common is to use words that describe who your ideal clients are.
When you use sentences such as: ‘Calling all coaches and consultants’ or ‘I help professional women land their dream job’, it is apparent who your ideal clients are.
People recognise themselves in what you write, and your copy will stand out.
Another technique is to use words that describe the benefits of your service in your headlines.
A benefit-orientated headline will capture the interest and attention of clients who are specifically looking for that result.
Finally, you can also format the headings on your sales page to grab attention with your copy.
When you choose to bold text, change the font colour, or increase the font size of headings and sub-headings on your sales page, it will stand out as people start scrolling down the page.

2. Make sure your sales page copy is informative
You’ll find it very difficult to generate sales if people can’t find the information they need to know before they will be ready to buy your services.
So, consider if you have enough information on your sales page to explain:
- What your service includes and the value it provides
- How your service works
- What the next steps are, and how clients can start working with you
Also, think about what other types of questions your clients might have.
And what type of information they will be researching about your services before they would be ready to purchase.
The frequently asked questions (FAQ) section on your sales page can be a great place to provide the extra pieces of information your clients need so you can overcome any sales objections.

3. Include persuasive language to encourage action
You’ll commonly find persuasive language used on sales pages above the call-to-action or ‘buy’ buttons.
Often it will be phrased as a question or ask – something along the lines of Ready to get started? Or: Get on board and join us!
Another place is often at the top of the page, where you’ll want to outline what’s in it for your client if they choose to work with you.
By focusing on the results or the transformation they can achieve, your clients will feel more persuaded to buy from you.
In addition, client testimonials that support these results are helpful when it comes to persuading potential clients.
Throughout the sales page copy, you’ll also want to use other persuasive language techniques such as personalising what you write and storytelling.
So, rather than writing ‘they’ or ‘them’ when referring to your clients, you’ll want to use ‘you’ or ‘your’ to engage with your reader more personally.
The stories you tell will also bring to life the outcomes and results that you can help your clients achieve, which will help persuade your clients to buy from you.
